ALL TIME BALANCER

Suitable for: Those horses maintained on pasture alone, or for those requiring additional protein and vitamins and minerals. Also ideal for calorie restricted diets.

Style: Cube

Product Description

As their name suggests, Balancers are designed to be used in conjunction with other available feed sources where the aim is to “balance” the total nutrient requirement. The other available feed sources could be pastures, hay, certain grains, other normal hard feeds and various combinations of the above. The nutrient requirements of horses will vary greatly depending on their stage of life and production or performance orientation (breeding, growing, maintenance, sport application, special needs).

The Equus All Time Balancer is a scientifically formulated, fully fortified feed balancer pellet designed to meet the requirements for all the various life stages and various applications within these stages. It is a high protein concentrate with a unique combination of essential amino acids, vitamins, organic minerals, anti-oxidants and yeast culture in a very convenient low dose pellet.

It is a potent source of essential nutrients which may be used to complement horses’ diets consisting of roughage and pasture only, as well as those being fed straight grains and pastures/ hay. It is also very convenient to use on horses with reduced calorie requirements.

All Time Balancer is specifically useful for stud breeders who often rely on pastures as their main source of energy but need to balance the pastures with protein, phosphate, calcium, trace minerals and all the essential vitamins required to sustain fertility. Its use is flexible and allows the addition of grains or hard feeds as required to tailor the diet to meet individual needs.

Additional uses:

  • To top up protein, vitamin and mineral intake when normal hard feeds are used below the recommended levels.
  • As a sole supplement for horses with Developmental Orthopedic Disease where obesity is a contributing factor.
  • As an additional source of nutrients for performance horses which easily maintain their weight on less than the prescribed quantities of hard feed, but require additional nutrients without the calories.

Feeding Guidelines

Feeding horses correctly requires a good eye and careful monitoring of your horse’s individual needs, condition and behaviour. We therefore suggest you contact us directly for personalised feeding advise- contact Equus Horse Feeds at + 27 73 423 5491 / + 27 83 998 6824.

Equus All Time Balancer should only ever be used to supplement good quality hay and/ or pasture.

To ensure a healthy gut the total roughage portion should never be less than 1% of bodyweight, but preferably at 1.5% unless calories need to be restricted. Always ensure the minimum roughage requirement is met and then adjust the amount of All Time Balancer depending on condition and workload.

  • Foals- generally will require 100g per 100kg body weight per day but this will depend on exact age, and circumstances.
  • Spelling horses and dry mares – 500g- 750g All Time Balancer/day
  • Pregnant mares, lactating mares, stallions and two year olds – 750g to 1.0 kg All Time Balancer/day
  • Weanlings and yearlings – Up to 1.0 kg All Time Balancer/day
  • Performance Horses – 750g to 1.0 kg All Time Balancer/day.

Please note the above amounts are only guidelines and we suggest you contact us directly to discuss your horses individual needs. In most instances the above horses will require additional food, alongside the All Time Balancer.

All Time Balancer is highly concentrated and the recommended daily intake should not be exceeded without consultation.

It is very important to ensure that your horse is fed the correct portion of food by weight, not by volume! All feeds have different densities and thus do not weigh the same. Therefore it is very important to establish exactly what weight (kg) your scoop holds of the specific product you are feeding.
