The inclusion of super fibres and added oils to the feed further improves the balance between quick, medium and slow release energy.

Cool n Perform 15 specifically assists in improving the muscle recovery rate through the use of high quality protein sources to supply all the essential amino acids like lysine, methionine and threonine as well as using elevated levels of folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron – all important for the formation of red blood cells and the improved transfer of oxygen to the muscles.

The high quality proteins also enrich this feed to ensure the development of beautiful topline and vibrant muscle tone.

As this ration is enriched with oils high in Omega-3 (30ml per kg), horses quickly develop show quality coats and enjoy all the other benefits of Omega-3 oils including their anti-inflammatory properties, immune system boost, supple joints and the quicker recovery of connective tissue necessary during high intensity training. Equus Cool ‘n Perform 15 should only ever be used to supplement good quality hay and/ or pasture.

To ensure a healthy gut the total roughage portion should never be less than 1% of bodyweight, but preferably at 1.5%. Always ensure the minimum roughage requirement is met and then adjust the amount of Cool ‘n Perform 15 depending on condition and workload. The Cool ‘n Perform 15 portion should preferably be limited to between 2 and 2.5 kg per feeding.

Depending on the workload, age, condition and quality of the available roughage, the average horse will require between 0.5% and 1% of body weight in Cool ‘n Perform 15 per day (e.g the average 500 kg horse will need between 2.5 and 5 kg of concentrate per day depending on daily needs).

Mixing in about 20% of water per weight to the Cool ‘n Perform 15 can aid palatability and many horses prefer the concentrate to be damp and crumbly when fed.

It is very important to ensure that your horse is fed the correct portion of food by weight, not by volume! All feeds have different densities and thus do not weigh the same. Therefore it is very important to establish exactly what weight (kg) your scoop holds of the specific product you are feeding.
